After a gap of four years, the Punjab Examination Commission (PEC/PECTA) has introduced new rules for 8th class board examinations, marking a major overhaul in the examination system across the province.
For the first time, the commission has launched a school mapping system to establish examination centers, ensuring better planning, transparency, and student convenience.

According to PECTA officials, strict implementation of the new guidelines will be ensured across Punjab. Under the updated policy, each examination center must accommodate a minimum of 50 and a maximum of 300 students.
Exam Centers Within 10km Radius
To reduce travel difficulties, examination centers will now be established within a 10-kilometer radius of students’ schools, making it easier for candidates to reach their exam venues safely and on time.
Separate Centers for Boys and Girls
The new rules clearly state that:
