Chief selector George Bailey confirmed that Pat Cummins, Josh Hazlewood, and Tim David—who were not part of the recent series against India—are making steady progress in their recovery and are expected to be available for the global tournament.

Speaking about the squad announcement, Bailey said the three players are recovering well and the selection panel is confident they will be fit in time for the World Cup.

He clarified that the announced squad is preliminary, adding that changes can be made during the preparation period if required.

“This is an initial squad. We will remain flexible and make adjustments if the need arises,” Bailey stated.

Pakistan Series Squad to Be Announced Later

The chief selector also revealed that Australia’s squad for the upcoming three-match T20I series against Pakistan will be announced at a later stage.

The decision allows selectors to closely monitor player fitness and workload management ahead of the busy international calendar.
