Big Relief for iPhone Buyers as Customs Values Are Slashed

There is good news for iPhone buyers as the Directorate General of Customs Valuation has announced a significant reduction in customs values for various used and refurbished mobile phones, with a major cut applied to Apple iPhone 14 Plus models.

According to the revised valuation, the customs value of the iPhone 14 Plus has been reduced to $774, down from the previous $910. Similarly, the 256GB iPhone 14 Plus now carries a customs value of $859, compared to $1,010 earlier.

In another major reduction, the 512GB iPhone 14 Plus customs value has been slashed from $1,210 to $1,029.

Consumers have welcomed the move, calling it a much-needed relief amid high smartphone prices in the local market.

Reason Behind the Reduction

Officials said the decision is part of ongoing efforts to align customs values with actual market prices of mobile phones in Pakistan. The revised values were finalized after a detailed review of multiple domestic and international markets, ensuring a more accurate reflection of current device prices.
