Power consumers across Pakistan have received a welcome relief as the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has approved a reduction in electricity prices under the fuel price adjustment mechanism.
According to NEPRA’s official notification, the reduction has been granted based on November’s fuel cost adjustment, and consumers will see its impact in their January electricity bills.

Energy analysts say that while the fuel price adjustment will provide short-term relief in upcoming bills, the increase in the average tariff could offset the benefit in the longer run.
