Internet services across Pakistan are likely to face disruptions on January 15 due to scheduled maintenance work on one of the country’s submarine cables, according to an internet service provider.

In an email sent to customers, Nayatel said that an unavoidable maintenance activity is planned on January 15, 2026, around 2:00 PM, and the process could last up to eight hours.

“This may cause internet slowness across Pakistan. Inconvenience is regretted,” the company stated, without disclosing the exact submarine cable or location involved in the maintenance.

🌐 Second Internet Disruption in Two Weeks

If the disruption occurs, it will mark the second major internet slowdown in Pakistan within two weeks.

On January 1, 2026, users across the country reported widespread internet outages due to an issue with one of Pakistan’s upstream connectivity providers. The disruption at that time lasted more than 48 hours, severely affecting businesses, online services, and daily digital activities.
