Islamabad Issues Final Warning for Vehicles Without M-Tag

The Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) administration has issued an important advisory urging vehicle owners to complete M-Tag registration immediately, warning that strict enforcement action will begin from January 1 against vehicles without the electronic tag.

Officials have advised citizens to avoid last-minute delays and complete registration well in advance to ensure uninterrupted movement within the federal capital.

Where to Get M-Tag Registered

Vehicle owners have been directed to visit the M-Tag Registration Center at Shakarparian Parade Ground as early as possible. Authorities warned that experience from previous enforcement drives shows a sharp increase in visitors close to deadlines, often leading to long queues and delays.

To handle the expected rush, the administration has upgraded arrangements at the Shakarparian facility.

Extra Counters and Staff Deployed

Officials confirmed that additional registration counters have been set up and extra staff deployed to speed up the process and reduce waiting time for citizens. These measures aim to ensure smooth registration despite the expected surge in applications.

However, authorities cautioned that even with improved facilities, heavy crowds near the deadline could still cause inconvenience.

Strict Enforcement From January 1

According to the ICT administration, the M-Tag system is being enforced to regulate vehicle entry and improve traffic management across Islamabad. From January 1 onward, vehicles without M-Tags will be stopped from entering designated areas, and violators will face action under the law.

Officials made it clear that no relaxation or extension will be granted once enforcement begins.

Advice for Vehicle Owners

Citizens have been strongly advised to:

  • Complete registration early

  • Bring all required documents to avoid delays

  • Avoid waiting until the final day

Authorities emphasized that timely compliance will help drivers avoid penalties and traffic restrictions.
