The Sindh government has launched a double decker bus service in Karachi, calling it a special New Year gift for city residents. Sindh Minister for Transport Sharjeel Inam Memon formally inaugurated the service, marking another step toward improving public transport in Pakistan’s largest city.
The new double decker buses will operate on the route from Model Colony to Zainab Market, covering a total distance of 22 kilometers. Authorities say the service is aimed at providing safe, modern, and comfortable travel while helping reduce traffic congestion on Karachi’s busy roads.

Speaking at the launch ceremony, Sharjeel Inam Memon stated that the Sindh government is taking practical steps to modernize Karachi’s public transport system. He added that the introduction of double decker buses is part of a broader plan, and more modern bus routes will be launched in the future.
Officials believe that expanding public transport options will help ease traffic pressure, reduce fuel consumption, and improve overall urban mobility in the city.
