According to sources, Lahore is expected to have holidays on Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, creating a consecutive four-day break for citizens. Thursday marks Kashmir Day, while Saturday and Sunday were already public holidays. Authorities are now also considering making Friday a holiday, giving locals an extended festive weekend.

Purpose Behind the Holidays
Officials say the additional holidays are aimed at making Basant celebrations safer and more memorable. With fewer vehicles on the roads, including motorcycles, traffic congestion will reduce, allowing citizens to enjoy the festival with more convenience and security.

This year, Basant is scheduled from 6th to 8th February, and the extended holidays will enable residents to fully participate in kite flying, cultural activities, and family gatherings without rushing.
