Punjab Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat has announced a major expansion of the government’s student support initiatives, revealing that students enrolled in private educational institutions will now also receive laptops under the provincial government’s education reform agenda for 2025.

Speaking on the progress of the Education Department, the minister described 2025 as a transformative year focused on improving access, transparency, and quality across Punjab’s education system. The decision to distribute 10,000 laptops to private-sector students marks a significant policy shift, as earlier phases of the scheme were largely limited to public-sector institutions.
