Rawalpindi Announces Strict Traffic Plan for New Year’s Eve 2025-26

The City Traffic Police (CTP) Rawalpindi has announced a detailed traffic management plan for New Year’s Eve to ensure public safety and smooth traffic flow across the city. Authorities aim to prevent accidents, reckless driving, and crowd-related traffic congestion during celebrations.

A CTP spokesperson stated that more than 600 traffic personnel have been deployed, and seven special squads formed to monitor and stop dangerous stunts such as one-wheeling, racing, and car skidding.

Major Roads Under Special Surveillance

The special squads will remain active on key city arteries including:

  • Mall Road

  • Peshawar Road

  • Bank Road

  • Jhelum Road

  • Old Airport Road

  • Murree Road

  • Sixth Road

Additional personnel will also be stationed at churches, parks, and recreational areas to manage traffic during public gatherings and religious events.

Strict Action Against Violators

Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Farhan Aslam directed all circle and sector in-charges to maintain strict surveillance on:

  • Vehicles with tinted windows

  • Unregistered vehicles

  • Vehicles with missing or irregular number plates

The CTO warned that any form of one-wheeling or reckless driving will be treated as a criminal offense, with strict legal action taken.

Motorcycle Modifications Banned

Authorities have also issued a complete ban on unauthorized motorcycle modifications, including cylinder removal, and announced monitoring of workshops involved in illegal alterations.

Parents are urged to closely monitor their children, ensuring that minors do not ride motorcycles or drive vehicles during New Year’s celebrations. Citizens are encouraged to celebrate responsibly and follow traffic laws to avoid accidents and public disturbances.
