Reason Behind the Gas Shutdown
The spokesperson explained that SSGC is currently facing an acute shortfall of gas, which has significantly impacted overall availability in its network.
Low line-pack levels and reduced system pressure have already been causing gas supply issues in several areas, forcing the utility to opt for a temporary but complete shutdown to stabilize the system.
Industries and Power Plants Affected
During the shutdown period:
-
All industrial units will remain without gas
-
Power generation plants connected to the SSGC network will also face gas suspension
The outage is expected to affect manufacturing activity and electricity generation during the two-day period.
