Foreign nationals are facing increased difficulties in the United States as authorities have cancelled thousands of visas, including a large number of student permits, under a stricter immigration enforcement drive.
According to the US Department of State, the cancelled visas include nearly 8,000 student visas along with around 2,500 special-category visas. Officials confirmed that many of the affected individuals were found to be in violation of US immigration and domestic laws.

The State Department stated that approximately 2,500 visas were revoked from individuals involved in legal violations, adding that there is evidence linking some visa holders to criminal activities. These actions, authorities said, are part of broader efforts to safeguard national security.
US officials emphasized that the primary objective behind the visa cancellations is to strengthen law enforcement and ensure compliance with American laws, while preventing misuse of visa privileges.
The department further clarified that strict visa policies will continue in the future, and additional actions may be taken against individuals found involved in illegal or suspicious activities.
This development has raised concerns among international students and foreign workers, as tighter visa scrutiny could impact education, employment, and travel plans in the United States.
