The Henley Passport Index 2026 has been released, offering a fresh look at global travel freedom — and while Pakistan has shown improvement, its passport remains among the least powerful worldwide.

According to the index, Singapore once again holds the title of the world’s strongest passport, granting its citizens visa-free or visa-on-arrival access to 192 countries.

Top Passports in the World (2026)

  • 1st: Singapore – 192 countries

  • 2nd: Japan & South Korea – 188 countries

  • 3rd: Denmark, Luxembourg, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland – 186 countries

  • 4th: Austria, Belgium, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, Norway – 185 countries

Asia continues to dominate global mobility rankings, while Europe still holds the majority of top-tier passports.

Pakistan Passport Ranking in 2026

Pakistan has improved by five positions in the latest ranking but still stands at 98th place globally.

Pakistani passport holders can currently travel to 31 countries either visa-free or with visa-on-arrival access.

Some of the notable destinations Pakistanis can visit without obtaining a prior visa include:

  • Maldives

  • Nepal

  • Sri Lanka

  • Kenya

  • Qatar

In addition, several island nations offer relaxed entry policies, such as:

  • Micronesia

The report also highlights several non-European nations performing strongly:

Henley’s report points to a widening gap in global mobility. While citizens of top-ranked countries enjoy expanding travel freedom, lower-ranked passport holders face increasing restrictions — a trend that continues to impact developing nations like Pakistan.
