Punjab Green Tractor Scheme Enters Third Phase – Here’s How Farmers Can Apply

Tractor Specifications

According to official details, the tractors provided under the scheme will have engine power ranging from 50 to 65 horsepower, making them suitable for small and medium-scale farming needs.

Application Dates and Deadline

The application process will begin on January 6, 2026 (Tuesday). Farmers can submit their applications until January 20, 2026, after which the registration window will be closed.

How Farmers Can Apply

Eligible farmers are advised to submit their applications through the Punjab Agriculture Department’s designated channels. For guidance, verification, and further assistance, farmers can contact the Agricultural Helpline at 0800-17000.

Strong Response in Previous Phase

During the second phase of the Punjab Green Tractor Program, more than 734,000 farmers submitted applications. Out of these, 282,000 applicants were declared eligible, while 9,500 farmers were selected through balloting.

Interestingly, official data revealed that 98 percent of farmers opted for locally manufactured Pakistani tractors, while only 2 percent preferred imported, high-capacity tractors. However, rising interest in imported tractors has encouraged foreign dealer companies to establish dealerships and business offices in Punjab.

Objectives of the Green Tractor Program

Officials stated that the program aims to:

  • Modernize the agricultural sector

  • Increase farm productivity and efficiency

  • Reduce farmers’ dependency on outdated equipment

  • Strengthen Pakistan’s agricultural economy

The Punjab government believes that providing modern machinery to farmers will play a key role in ensuring food security and sustainable agricultural growth.
