Key Highlights for 2026

📌 March “Mega Weekend”

In March 2026, Eid-ul-Fitr is expected to coincide with Pakistan Day on March 23. This may result in a continuous 3 to 4-day holiday break starting from Saturday, March 21.

📌 Extended Holidays in May

Youm-e-Takbeer (May 28) falls during the Eid-ul-Azha holidays (May 27–29), creating a potential 5-day long break for government and private-sector employees.

📌 Bank Holidays

Banks will remain closed for public dealing on:

  • January 1 (New Year)

  • February 18 (Zakat Deduction – 1st Ramazan)

  • July 1 (Half-Yearly Closing)

School-Specific Updates

According to past practice, schools in Punjab often observe a rest day on January 27, following national-level announcements. However, this is usually confirmed by the Punjab Education Department based on weather conditions such as smog or fog.

Parents and students are advised to follow official notifications from their respective boards and education departments.
