Roti and Naan Prices to Stay Unchanged Until Eid

The Pakistan Naanbai Association has announced that prices of roti and naan will remain unchanged until the end of Ramadan, providing temporary relief to consumers.

The decision was made during a General Council meeting attended by representatives from Rawalpindi, Attock, Jhelum, Chakwal, Murree, Talagang, and surrounding areas. The meeting was chaired by central president Shafiq Qureshi.

Relief Despite Rising Costs

Association leaders said they are facing heavy financial pressure due to increasing costs of:

  • Flour
  • Ghee
  • LPG
  • Electricity
  • Wages
  • Tandoor rents
  • Commercial gas cylinders have reportedly reached around Rs 16,000, adding to operational challenges.

Price Hike Expected After Eid

The association clarified that current prices can only be maintained until 30th Ramadan. After Eid-ul-Fitr:

  • Roti and naan may increase by Rs 5
  • Paratha and roghni naan may rise by Rs 10

Officials warned that if raw material prices continue rising, some tandoors may be forced to shut down.

Flour Price Surge

Data shared in the meeting showed that a 79kg flour bag has increased significantly, highlighting the strain on bakery operators.
