The Punjab government has announced another major relief for the public, as Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s Free Home Delivery Project sets a new benchmark in public service.

This initiative is the first government-run project in Punjab that delivers quality essential food items to homes free of cost. The service is currently operational through 46 Sahulat Bazaars in 35 cities across the province.

According to official data, more than 312,000 orders have already been successfully delivered to households. Under the Punjab Sahulat Bazaar Authority, the project ensures the supply of 13 essential food items at prices even lower than Deputy Commissioner (DC) notified rates.

Citizens are receiving daily-use food items at up to 7% lower prices than official DC rates, offering meaningful relief amid rising inflation. Orders can be placed through the Free Home Delivery App, available on both Google Play Store and Apple App Store, while dedicated riders deliver groceries directly to homes.

Items available under the scheme include potatoes, onions, tomatoes, pumpkin, garlic, apples, bananas, dates, lemons, guava, as well as gram pulses, besan, flour, and sugar.

Officials say the project has helped citizens save more than Rs110 million collectively, while the public has widely praised the initiative for providing affordable, quality food items at their doorstep.

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif stated that protecting citizens from the impact of inflation is a top priority, adding that the Free Home Delivery Project will gradually expand to more cities across Punjab.
