Imtiaz Ahmed stated that prices may fall further during the holy month of Ramadan, as demand stabilizes and supply improves across the city’s markets.

He added that poultry traders are making efforts to keep prices under control to provide relief to the public ahead of Ramadan, a period when food demand typically rises.

Currently, the official government rates stand at Rs 570 per kilogram for chicken meat, while live chicken is officially priced at Rs 376 per kg. However, prices may vary slightly in retail markets depending on locality and supply conditions.

Consumers have cautiously welcomed the reduction, hoping for continued price stability in the coming weeks, especially during Ramadan.
