Pakistan Introduces New Currency Notes

Modern Designs and Enhanced Security

The new notes are being designed to meet international standards, with consultation from global currency experts. To prevent counterfeit money, the banknotes will feature advanced and durable security threads.

Themes Highlighted in the New Notes

The redesigned currency will showcase:

  • Pakistan’s regional and geographical diversity

  • Historical landmarks and national heritage

  • Women’s contribution to national development

  • Climate change awareness and environmental themes

Before the official release, the cabinet has formed a special committee to review the proposed designs and ensure all security and cultural standards are met.

Other Decisions in the Cabinet Meeting

The cabinet also referred the Private Hajj Policy 2027–2030 draft back to the Hajj Policy Committee for further review. The draft addresses private Hajj operator registration and third-party verification processes.

The introduction of these new notes is expected to strengthen Pakistan’s currency security while promoting cultural, social, and environmental awareness.
