Pakistan wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Rizwan has responded to reports suggesting that he was humiliated after being called back by his captain during a crucial Big Bash League (BBL) match.
Several media outlets had claimed that Rizwan’s mid-innings recall was disrespectful and that the Pakistan star was unhappy with the decision. However, Rizwan has strongly rejected these claims, calling them false and misleading.

Speaking about the incident, Rizwan said there is no truth in reports suggesting that he is leaving the Big Bash League early or failing to honor his contract.
“There is no truth in the claims that I am returning from the Big Bash League or that I will not complete my contract,” Rizwan said.
Addressing the on-field decision, Rizwan emphasized the importance of respecting leadership.
“Following the captain’s decision is my duty. Our religion also teaches us to obey our leader. In a match situation, the captain is the leader, and whatever decision he makes must be followed,” he explained.
Rizwan added that he has no complaints about being called back during the match.
“I have no grievances. After the match, both the coach and the captain spoke to me, thanked me, and even apologized,” he revealed.
The Pakistan star confirmed that he remains fully available for his team Melbourne Renegades under his BBL contract and dismissed rumors of leaving the league as completely false.
The controversy arose two days ago during a key match when Melbourne Renegades captain retired Mohammad Rizwan out after he scored 26 runs off 23 balls. Rizwan was replaced by Will Sutherland, who was dismissed for just one run.
Ultimately, Sydney Thunder won the match by four wickets under the DLS method, adding further scrutiny to the captain’s decision.
Despite the criticism, Rizwan’s clarification has helped put an end to speculation surrounding his future in the Big Bash League.
