Cricket infrastructure in Sindh is set for another major boost as Niaz Stadium, Hyderabad, is expected to undergo priority renovation and upgrades following the city’s inclusion in the Pakistan Super League (PSL).
FKS has officially confirmed that its newly acquired PSL franchise will be based in Hyderabad, making it Sindh’s second PSL city after Karachi. The franchise was secured for Rs 175 crore during the PSL team auction held in Islamabad.

Focus Shifts to Niaz Stadium Upgrades
With Hyderabad now on the PSL map, attention has shifted to upgrading Niaz Stadium to meet the requirements of hosting a high-profile T20 tournament. Officials believe the proposed renovations will significantly improve match-day experience, player facilities, broadcasting infrastructure, and operational logistics.
Stakeholders see the upgrades as a crucial step toward ensuring Hyderabad is fully prepared to host PSL matches at an international standard.
Team Name to Be Revealed Later
When asked about the identity of the Hyderabad-based PSL team, Fawad Sarwar of FKS Group said the franchise name has already been finalized but will be announced later.
He added that the official team name and branding will be unveiled at a dedicated ceremony in coordination with PSL officials and other stakeholders.

The addition of Hyderabad is being viewed as part of the PSL’s broader expansion strategy, bringing top-tier cricket back to cities with strong cricketing history.
In a similar development, Jinnah Stadium in Sialkot is also expected to receive a major facelift after the city secured its own PSL franchise. The eighth PSL team was awarded to OZ Developers for Rs 185 crore, exceeding the reserve price of Rs 170 crore.
