Jacob Duffy, 31 years old, joins the squad after taking 81 international wickets in 2025, surpassing Sir Richard Hadlee’s long-standing record of 79 wickets in a calendar year. Duffy has also climbed to No. 2 in ICC T20 bowling rankings.
Strong Pace & All-Round Attack
New Zealand’s bowling unit is formidable, featuring Matt Henry, Lockie Ferguson, Adam Milne, and all-rounder James Neesham, with Kyle Jamieson as the traveling reserve fast bowler.
Several players are currently under injury treatment, including Finn Allen (finger/hamstring), Mark Chapman (ankle), Lockie Ferguson (calf), Matt Henry (calf), and Mitchell Santner (adductor), but they are expected to recover in time.
Ferguson and Henry may temporarily leave the squad for paternity leave during the tournament, as their partners are due to give birth within the World Cup window.
