Diesel Price Drop Brings Relief: New Transport Fare List Released

Following a reduction in diesel prices, the Transport Department has officially issued a new fare notification for public transport services, providing partial relief to daily commuters across the region.

Officials confirmed that students, special persons, and passengers aged 60 years and above will continue to receive a 50 percent concession on approved fares, ensuring affordability for vulnerable groups.

Revised Fares From Peshawar to Major Cities

According to the updated fare list:

  • Peshawar to Kohat (Flying Coach & Mini Bus): Rs 177

  • Peshawar to Bannu: Rs 530

  • Peshawar to Dera Ismail Khan: Rs 870

  • Peshawar to Haripur: Rs 424

  • Peshawar to Abbottabad (Flying Coach & Mini Bus): Rs 530

  • Peshawar to Mardan: Rs 158

  • Peshawar to Swat: Rs 468

  • Peshawar to Chitral: Rs 993

Motorway Route Fares Also Revised

For passengers traveling via motorway routes, separate fares have been notified:

  • Peshawar to Mardan (Motorway): Rs 316

  • Peshawar to Abbottabad (Motorway): Rs 419

Strict Action Against Overcharging

The Transport Department has directed all transporters and operators to strictly implement the new fare structure. Authorities warned that legal action will be taken against those found charging excess fares.

Passengers have also been encouraged to report violations to ensure compliance and protect commuter rights.

The revised fare list is expected to ease travel costs following fuel price adjustments while maintaining regulated transport services.
