Hospitals in Lahore on High Alert for Basant, Extra Doctors Deployed

Medical authorities have placed hospitals in Lahore on high alert for the Basant festival, with additional doctors being called in from other cities to strengthen emergency services.

Specialists from Faisalabad and Gujranwala have been assigned duties in Lahore hospitals to manage any surge in patients during the festival.

Specialist Doctors Assigned

Associate professors in surgery and ENT, along with assistant professors and senior registrars, have been deployed on special duty.

Hospitals Receiving Extra Staff

Doctors have been posted at key medical facilities, including:

  • Kot Khawaja Saeed Hospital
  • Yaki Gate Hospital
  • Services Hospital
  • Syed Mitha Hospital
  • Mian Munshi Hospital

Doctors from Jinnah Hospital will serve at Nawaz Sharif Hospital Yaki Gate, while General Hospital staff will assist at Syed Mitha Hospital. Medical professionals from Allied Hospital Faisalabad and Gujranwala Teaching Hospital have also joined duty rotations.

Preparedness for Festival Emergencies

Authorities say these arrangements are part of preventive measures to ensure immediate treatment availability. Basant often requires hospitals to prepare for increased emergency cases, prompting extra staffing and readiness.

Health officials have urged citizens to follow safety guidelines during celebrations to avoid accidents.
