2 Day Public Holiday Announced – Government & Private Offices to Close

The government of Kuwait has officially announced a two-day public holiday on the occasion of National Day and Liberation Day.

The decision was taken during the weekly cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmad Al-Abdullah Al-Sabah.

As a result of the announcement, employees in government institutions will enjoy a four-day long weekend.

Official Holiday Dates Confirmed

According to the cabinet decision:

• Wednesday, February 25 – Public Holiday

• Thursday, February 26 – Public Holiday

Since Friday and Saturday are already regular weekend holidays in Kuwait, government employees will get:

• Wednesday

• Thursday

• Friday

• Saturday

Work will officially resume on Sunday, March 1.

Which Institutions Will Remain Closed?

During these two days:

• Government ministries

• Public institutions

• Educational institutions

• Administrative departments

will remain completely closed.

However, essential service departments such as:

• Security agencies

• Health services

• Emergency operations

will manage their own schedules to ensure uninterrupted public services.
